Can someone explain what Sydney sweeney has done?

Ok so I don’t normally care about celebrity gossip but all my algorithms are pushing Sydney sweeney at me. I know there was the AE campaign with genes/jeans that went down badly - but that wasn’t her fault? I’m sure she didn’t come up with that slogan? And now it just seems like everyone absolutely hates her and I keep getting random adverts for her bath water soap 😂 wtf is going on.

There’s a whole bunch of details, but basically she is a very charismatic and beautiful atomic blonde, and people are compelled to talk about people like that because they are fundamentally fascinated by their sex appeal (whether they actively fancy them or not). That’s my theory anyway.

None of this is meant to be disparaging about her - from what I’ve seen she’s a good actor.

But what are the details 😂

She's a Republican.

She endorsed and sold a soap that supposedly contains her bathwater. She's just a bit grim.

I heard a radio programme saying that she advertised a pair of jeans. The tagline was, ' Sydney Sweeney has good genes' some people are saying it's racist ( didn't use a person of colour) or to do with eugenics ( good genes because she's white)
The ad man that spoke on the programme said it was just a tagline nothing sinister.
Apparently the owners of the jeans company are Jewish so wouldn't be promoting Arian values.

There was something about her being photographed at a family party with people wearing MAGA hats. She then implied that her politics would surprise people. It was then revealed that she was a Republican Party member.

A company has used the old fashioned method of using a good looking woman to advertise their product instead of someone obese.

It was a MAGA themed party, that she helped throw for her parents.

I think was briefly the Internet's sweetheart, then she was deemed to be too right wing. And she went to Bezos' wedding. Then there was the issue with the jeans ad.

The problem with the jeans is she is referencing an old advert that starred Brook Shields who was 15 at the time.
She claimed women were complaining about her bath water soap when they went wild for Jacob Elodoris soap, which was a reference to a certain scene in Saltburn and mostly considered of fan made candles sold as gag gifts and never endorsed by Jacob Elodori himself. So once again trying to bring women down to lift herself up.

So basically a publicity campaign for her and any products she may sell/endorse

My advice- stop caring about celebrities in any capacity and you’re life will be all the more happier for it.
