Kids smart watch that allows phone calls WITHOUT a subscription

Does this exist?

Id like to get a watch for my son that has a phone call facility on it, but I don’t want to be tied into a subscription (as he will likely only use it in the summer months)

I understand it will need a SIM card, that’s understandable, but I can just use a pay as you go type card. I don’t want to be tied in

I have no idea but here to see if anyone else does!

When I bought my son a kidsnav watch a couple of years ago it came with a sim from a company called 1p, and that was just a pay as you go sim, no subscription.
