House/pet sitters - how clean would you expect a House to be

Well aware I might be being silly here. DP and I are going away and leaving the dog for the weekend with a sitter. She's lovely and has done a couple of daytime sits for us while we've been out at work. But now she'll be staying in our one bed flat for a whole weekend and that obviously means sleeping in our bed etc.....

I'm currently doing a clean of the flat (hoovering, dusting, fresh sheets on bed etc, kitchen and bathroom clean etc). That's enough, right? I've moved all our stuff off our bedside tables and put bits away so she can unpack a little bit..anything else I need to think about?

I know I'm overthinking it but it feels so odd having someone else stay in my home 😂

I'm a cat sitter and honestly I would never expect an airbnb/hotel level of cleanliness. I can tell that some of my clients do go the extra step to clean a lot before I stay but homes are meant to be lived in... I always feel bad when people apologise for a bit of mess.

As long as there aren't dirty dishes left in the sink and the floors recently been hoovered/swept I'm more than happy!

What you’ve done sounds perfect. As @kellygoeswestsays, it’s not an Airbnb they’re paying for and expecting to be really clean - it’s your home and homes are lived in.

Key areas (for me anyway) are definitely a clean bathroom and cleanish kitchen, a couple of clean towels and any obvious ‘personal’ things put away (not photos, nick nacks - I stumbled across a vibrator in an airing cupboard when house sitting for family!! It’s something I can’t unsee 😂)

What you’ve done sounds fine.

@SociableAtWork that must have been quite the shock 😂
