About yesterday's purple - th contentious one was Hock as a homophone for Selling.
It wasn't hock as we'd understand it in the UK, as in take to a pawnshop.
It was Hawk, as in 'to hawk your wares' or a trader being called a Hawker. In most American accents, hock and hawk sound the same.
