I vomited on the bus today

Lighthearted and adding a trigger warning for vomit, but just putting it out there in case anyone has had a crap day and wants to feel better about themselves.

I went home from work at lunchtime as a bit unwell. Unfortunately a sudden wave of sickness came over me and with having no time to think or ask the driver to stop on a busy motorway, I managed to aim into my PAPER carrier bag from Boots. This of course didn't work and inevitably the contents of my stomach eeked out onto my lap. Some kind folk then came to my rescue by giving me a plastic bag, which I then had to use to decant my vomit into via the skirt of my dress. I then held said bag of vomit in my lap for the remaining 40 minutes of the journey and had to exit the bus much like Ross from Friends in his leather trousers, with my maxi dress held up around my arse so as to contain everything. Amazingly, the entire surrounding area I was in was just fine. I also sprayed a wee bit of deodorant for the poor creatures having to endure the rest of the journey, but I'm sure this wasn't going to save the day.

Has anyone else had a disgusting day they can share?

You poor thing that sounds awful. Hope you’re ok now.

Oh you poor thing! How are you feeling now? Better I hope.

I had a bit of a mixed day - I was out all day working with young people who were enjoying a multi-sports activity during the holidays. I literally walked through the door at 9:30am and realised my trousers felt loose - somewhere between dressing myself this morning and driving to the activity my waistband button had popped off and got lost. As a result my flies also didn't to stay up properly and I had to keep checking myself every five minutes, because showing your knickers to young people is generally frowned upon isn't it!

Luckily managed to find a safety pin in a first aid kit during the lunch break and did a temporary fix... but one of the volunteers said to me: 'You're holding your thumb awkwardly - are you ok?' I said: 'Yeah I shut it in the car door last week, it's painful, but I'm sure it's nothing.' But by the end of the session it was really starting to throb again and lovely lady said: 'You should really go to minor injuries on your way home this afternoon...'

So I took her advice - and, good call, because it's broken in two places - nothing to be done except wear a sexy mallet splint for the next 3-6 weeks... so a mixed day! But kudos to the NHS - I was triaged, x-rayed and treated within an hour and a half, and it was busy in there. Thank you Neath Port Talbot Hospital MIU!

That indeed sounds like a mad day @Arlanymor, glad to hear you're going to be ok!
I'm fine now thanks, moreso just dying of embarrassment but I'll be fine tomorrow!
