My DH is 90% lovely.

However he drives me f'kin insane when he can't remember conversations.

He spoke to his mum an hour ago. I said 'what did your mum want?'..'I cant remember" !!
Or he speaks to DD who lives away, 'what did DD say about her new job'...'I cant really remember, think its ok, cant remember the details'
Its lazy and ridiculous and drives me absolutely nuts!!
Anyone else have this issue? It feels like a man thing even tho I hate generalising!

I’ve known men like that. Luckily my dad isn’t like that and I’ve never kept any of the other ones in my life so I don’t have to deal with it. It really was a dealbreaker for me when looking for a partner. I hated it when dating and you’d get the “ehh, can’t remember, anyway…” Just so dismissive and shows they just don’t care about what other people have to say, so I cut them loose. Same with friends, just don’t surround yourself with people who don’t meet your expectations.
I work for myself so don’t have to deal with any of it at work.

Think its some weird male chromosomal thing. Nearly all the men I've known well are exactly like this and seem amazed you can recall details of a discussion had months ago. DP meets one of his brothers regularly, they spend nearly 2 hrs chatting in a pub but 'can't remember' or 'not much' when asked what they talked about. If we need to arrange something with them (think Christmas/family celebrations etc) have to get him to call his SIL while I'm with him to make sure information gets relayed at all. Does seem bizarre, he can remember who won the league in 1974 or the name of some random group who had a one hit wonder in the mid 90's . So his memory seems to work fine.

It is because they don’t care - it wasn’t about them.

My sister does this except she can't remember the actual conversation you're having.

He's not actually listening.
