What’s on your Autumn list?

I know it’s still summer until 22 Sept, and I’ll make the most of it. However, my thoughts now are very much of Autumn.

What things are you putting in the diary, buying or preparing for what is for a lot of us, our favourite season?

For me, it is going to be a very busy time. I need to support an elderly parent after an operation, I need to study for a qualification, train for a half marathon and get some major chores done. I’m also tired and sick of the constant negativity of the news and work stress.

In Feb I tried to go off grid for a month and it had some success. I’m thinking of trying to do this in Autumn this year. Just take a step back and only focus on my family and very close friends and switch off the news, take a step back from life.

On a more positive note, I love the run up to Christmas and I’m definitely more of an Autumn/ Winter person.

I like the "new start" feeling I get in September, although it's a very long time since I was actually starting a new school year! This year I'm doing a hobby course so I have a small genuine reason for the "new school year" feeling for once. Besides that, I don't particularly enjoy the run up to Xmas and generally just look forward to the even bigger new start feeling in January.

I've got a few SEN meetings for my kids. One is starting secondary so that is going to take lots of figuring out, worry and adjustment. I am looking forward to autumn/ winter though.
