Where to go on holiday for Christmas?

Hi everyone! For the first time in my life I'm hoping to spend Christmas abroad, but have no idea where! Has anyone done this? It would be for around 2 weeks, most likely alone but potentially with adult kids joining here and there. Don’t mind a long flight, love warm lazy beach holidays but not wanting to blow a fortune. Any ideas to send me off in the right direction?

I've never been over Christmas but somewhere like Lanzarote would still be lovely and warm around that time. I went in November a couple of years ago and it was amazing weather. Once my DD is older, our plan is to spend Christmas there too. Enjoy, wherever you decide!

What is your budget? Christmas is going to bump prices up everywhere.

To absolutely guarantee good weather I'd be looking at South East Asia or the Caribbean.

I know Dubai is almost universally loathed on MN, but December weather in that part of the world (we lived for many years in Oman) is usually very good. Lots of grandparents, including both sets of our parents, came to visit more than once at Christmas.
A plus is that the flight is not too hideously long, and jet lag not too bad.

Not cheap, though!

My choice would probably be the Caribbean, but that will be very pricey at Christmas, too.

I go to Thailand every year and it is wonderful! I book the flights early and then book 4 different hotels so we get to move around and enjoy different areas. I reckon it costs me less that 2k each without spending money and that is really good standard hotels. We budget £50 a day each and that includes taxis or ferry to do the hotel transfers and good meals out with plenty of drinks.

I’ve been to both Egypt and the Caribbean.

both were good in different ways.

I’d be going to an all inclusive on Gran Canaria. If I could.
