School polo shirts - how can I make them bright white again?

My child’s white school polo shirts are looking a bit grey & grimy.
Can anyone advise what’s the best way to make them look new (ish) again?
Thank you 🫶

Soak them in Vanish oxy action and wash only with other whites at 40 degrees

Bleach. 150mls in 25l. Soak for 30mins-1hr then wash normally in bio

I use Ace ultra laundry bleach for whites
I buy in Sainsburys
I also use biological soap powder as liquid or gel doesn’t have the optical brighteners

Do not do this if there’s any chance they have suncream residue on them. It does not work out well!

I always wash ds school shirts on a Friday with a couple of white towels, some biological washing powder and a sachet of dr beckmans whitener.
At the end of the year they are still sparkling white and in good enough condition to donate to the second hand school sale!
no one is more surprised than me - I’m usually so shit at washing stuff, never manage to get stains out of anything 😂

Wash them on their own with bio powder and nothing else. Don't tumble as that's what turns them grey.

@alwaysthesamechild if they go pink just put them on the line in the sun and wash them again in bio. They'll be fine

it does, thanks for adding that.
though it is alarming at the time and takes some good sun exposure to correct, in my experience.
