I've just found out that some vending machines in Japan also have an earthquake detector.
If they detect an earthquake (or typhoon) they 'unlock' ie stop charging people for their contents so you can get free water, soft drinks and emergency food items.
It's such a good idea for a country with so many earthquakes.
What have you come across that is 'perfect'.
