I received this text message and was initially concerned when I realised that

a)it was sent to 9 other people
b) there was no actual details of the so called parking issue
c) I have received a parking notice before and it came in the post with picture and details

So heads up. If you receive this, don’t click any links or pay

I got the same today. I imagine some large mailing list has been hacked and is being used for these. M&S maybe?

Would anyone think that an unnamed parking company could somehow link their mobile number to their car reg and fall for this?

I see how the parcel one fools people as you do often give your number when you order something but are their car parks that collect phone numbers?

I'm surprised this one is still going tbh

Really? It's so very obviously a scam.

People fall for the “I’m Jennifer Anniston and I need £xxx to do so and so”

So yeah some people would fall for this

I got this and it was obvious to me that it was a scam.

Why would they text it to you? As PP said, how does the DVLA have a record of every vehicle keeper's mobile number? Is it A fine or multiple fines? Why did they put the date the US way around? Why did they spell 'licence' the American way?

And there's no way on earth that a legitimate British parking fine notice from the authorities would end with 'many thanks again for your cooperation'. It would be a stern warning against ignoring it, rather than a pleasant appreciation for responding! Even your annual council tax bill/statement is a 'demand'!
