Anxious about going to doctors… about anxiety

I have been really struggling with anxiety and depression for a long time. Got diagnosed about 5 years ago whilst I was still under Camhs supervision, but then during Covid I got basically lost in the system! So I have learnt to ‘cope’ and muddle through life with this hanging over me. It’s now at the point where it’s affecting every aspect of my life, and I just want to feel normal. Id like to discuss medication and possible therapy.
I’ve made a doctors appointment, but I’m now feeling really really anxious about it.
Does anyone know what sort of things they’ll be wanting to speak to me about? What the appointment will entail?

Firstly, I’m sorry that you’re going through this. Anxiety is just horrible however it is treatable. If you have a face-to-face with the GP, I’d recommend you get yourself an A4 piece of paper and start writing down bullet points. This way you can remain focused in the consultation. You can refer yourself for therapy by the NHS. Just Google mental health support and follow the instructions. Also, you might find progressive relaxation techniques useful. Search now on YouTube x
