I answered this because honestly I feel like I’m in despair, but there was no room for comments. Someone is interested enough in our views to commission a survey, so here are my thoughts.
i dont have loyalty to any particular political party. I’m probably more right wing than left. I think the conservatives were doing a terrible job and Labour seem to be doing even worse.
like many people in this country I’m sick of the fact that nothing works. I’m sick of made up public sector jobs that dont add value. I’m sick of the authoritarianism of so many people with any power or influence. I’m worried about mass immigration from parts of the world with very different culture and values fundamentally changing British life. I have reason to be worried because my family moved from that part of the world to get away from Islamist nutcases.
im worried about rising taxes when the problem is the country’s economy isn’t growing and its spending so much more than it can afford. I’m worried about a generation of young people on welfare and disability benefits.
a man pulled his trousers down on the tube and refused to pull them up. Several members of the public removed him from the carriage. The police have now said they face arrest for assaulting him! They should have received public thanks, not face police action. This sort of tone deaf lack of common sense is driving people to parties like Reform.
The Supreme Court ruled on women’s rights in April and Labour have yet to make their own government departments comply! Why is Darlington NHS trust wasting tax payer money fighting the nurses who want the single sex changing rooms they’re legally entitled to? Do Labour realise how miserably, pathetically weak this makes them look to ordinary people?
I want leaders who will take the tough decisions, but Labour can’t because their MPs and voters won’t let them do what needs to be done. I despair that this means we’re likely to have bloody Reform as our next party in power and that will make everything worse.
