Annoying Neighbours Summer 2025

Is anyone else starting to feel annoyed by their neighbours? What do they do that annoys you? Please feel free to vent.

Ours sit out in the street from morning until late at night shouting and screaming at their kids even though we all have our own gardens.

I work in a school and have been off 4 weeks.
I m so so so sick of my neighbours.
One side does performance grandparenting loudly in the garden
"It's a butterfly Evie can you say butterfly.? Butt er flyyy"
"Ooh is Grandad a monster? Yes he's a monster a monster "
(Old man roars and chases kids despite hobbling around with a walking stick in the street).

Other side s dog barks when the post comes, when I get a delivery, when I open my back door, when kids are out playing, when an ant farts in South America and the woman yells at it constantly.

She also has LOUD phone calls in her garden about her grown up kids/dating/stuff she's bought in the shops.

Back of us is a kid who makes animal noises all day like there's a farm there (but a lot louder than a real animal).

I m going away for 2 weeks today thank God but I have been missing my secondary school which is actually quieter during lessons.

All I ever do in the garden is read or sit with my cats outside or mow the lawn. Maybe my son and I would sit outside and chat.

It's not fair!
The neighbours are all quiet down the road and I m stuck between the noisy ones.

Plays loud music, it ruins my peace in the garden. Has the most awful over the top fake laugh, it's so obviously put on.

Fitzcarraldo353 · 15/08/2025 14:10

One of our neighbours a few doors up has a garden that's like an allotment which is lovely and they spend a lot of time in it. But last night they decided that 10pm was.a perfectly reasonable time to use their weird, metal BBQ and whatever odd fuel they were chucking on it (wooden logs by the looks of it). End result was a LOT of really acrid smelling smoke coming in our open windows (it's HOT in London) plus a lot of clattering and metal banging. Still cooking at 11.30pm when I went to bed. Dicks.

Peaceisenough · 15/08/2025 14:11

It just seems that so many people are desperate for attention. The world has gone mad.

Gall10 · 15/08/2025 14:12

Neighbours cat shits in my garden….I throw it back over the fence. They’ll probably be joining this conversation to complain about me!

Radiowaawaa · 15/08/2025 14:13

The sheep are quite loud.

HelpMeGetThrough · 15/08/2025 14:15

Well there are new ones moving in behind us right now. No idea if the bloke there is a removal guy, but the tosser has cranked up the music. Wanker.

If this is a taste of things to come, they’ll be getting an earful

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 15/08/2025 22:46

My neighbour revs his car engine over and over when he gets home from work at 2:30am he then hoots like an owl. We think he has issues!

HornyHornersPinger · 16/08/2025 06:21

My neighbour's young adult daughter who's grown-up there has an obnoxiously loud exhaust on her car. If it was an old Fart like me it wouldn't be a problem, but this young whippersnapper comes and goes at all hours - she actually got home at 1am the other night then was up and out at 7am to work I assume! It would be just as effective if she put down her windows to shout "I'm home!/I'm going out!" each time.... Grr.

Rootatoot · 16/08/2025 06:54

Kids screaming but I can't blame the kids because the parents seem to have an inability to speak at normal volume. "Ay-vaaaaaaaa" x10000 per day and crying....and "I will count to three.....one ...twoo.... screams...."

Whole garden lit up like a bad Xmas grotto.

Other neighbours have competing security lights which flood light my bedroom. It's been too hot to shut curtains at night as have.been trying to cool the house down but it's so bright it still gets in past the curtains.

Next door smoking and stinking out my bedroom.

Other next door have put up some reflective placky windmill thing just above our fence about a metre from my back patio door. So I get dazzled when I go out back. It's like teletubbies. Very odd.

Oh and the obligatory dogs barking for good measure.

Still it'll soon be autumn.

MamaElephantMama · 16/08/2025 07:00

I’m glad some of you were able to have a rant with me.

It’s enraging how it’s the adults that are the most annoying. I’m sure the kids in our street would be playing quite nicely if their parents weren’t screaming and threatening them every second of the day.

The loud sheep sounds very blissful compared to these low life’s.

Not a neighbour but more to the back of my house and up the hill. They’re the most God awful scummy family I’ve ever come across. We live on a housing estate. In terraced houses. They have a pig and a pig house in the garden. The oldest son also lives in the garden. Next to the pig. He plays music loudly 24/7. The pig stinks. They have dogs that bark all the sodding time. The dogs shit is left to rot in the heat and mixes with the pig smell. The mother has a mouth as big as the Mersey tunnel. I can be in my front room on the opposite side of the house with the doors closed and hear her screaming at her kids.
Its literally like Shameless since they’ve moved in. They’re an absolute nightmare.

Myblueclematis · 16/08/2025 07:23

My gripe is not on a par with all the above but this year next door but one neighbour goes out into the garden and does this really tuneless whistling. It's just one or two notes that he drags out and repeats over and over and over... 😡

I like to read outside but once I've heard it I just can't switch off from hearing it so give up and go indoors. I find myself constantly saying in my head "shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up"!

There, that feels better 😆

Ah I have someone like that in my road, not even a neighbour but I can hear her from about 4 doors up, the language is appalling. It seems as soon as their child wakes up she starts screaming at it. I honestly wonder why they had a child if she's that much of an inconvenience and she can't actually be civil to it.

LaProf · 16/08/2025 07:47

Mine has a teenage granddaughter who more or less lives there. Their normal speaking voices are loud, but in summer they constantly play with the dog so all I can hear is loud whooping and asking the dog what it's got now. They also have a karaoke machine that they use outside.

JurgenKloppsTeeth · 16/08/2025 07:49

The vast majority are absolutely fine but one family let their kids play in a bit of green space among the houses (no problem with this in theory) and within about five minutes one of the kids is loudly cry-whinging. This goes on for 15 minutes each time, multiple times a day. They also have a yappy dog which they let out into the front garden to bark and bark and I am at the point of telling them that I’ll be reporting them to the council for noise pollution if they don’t do something about the barking. Yes all dogs bark, fine, but if it barks for a long time, take it back inside and do some fucking training!

We also have a girl racer with a loud exhaust on her car and she apparently can’t park it without moving it backwards and forwards multiple times, revving the exhaust each time. The car has a bad oil leak so I’m hoping it’ll be on the scrap heap before long.

We are also treated to Kiss FM on full blast on sunny bank holidays by one neighbour but at least he limits it to bank holidays.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/08/2025 07:51

I have a large garden which is barely overlooked - yet I can rarely use it due to the persistent dance music from one neighbour and when it’s not roasting hot, the chimney smoke from our attached neighbour. There’s an unreasonable amount of revving and use of heavy vehicles which pisses me off. Genuinely no clue what the hell they are up.

When all the neighbours fuck off for the same day/week (rare) I actually enjoy living in this house.

millmoo · 16/08/2025 07:54

My neighbour finishes work later and likes to sit outside until 2/3am - fine when I have the windows closed as I don’t hear but the other night he decided to sit outside and had the most annoying cough ever!!
every time I was dropping off he coughed again and it woke me up!!
at 2am I had to get up to slam the window shut then I woke up at 4am as I was doing with the heat.
like go inside and cough there or buy yourself some cough medicine!!!!

can’t wait for winter ….

User1234567891011121314 · 16/08/2025 08:07

Good lord some of these are mental. I was just going to say opposite sides car exhaust daily at 6am.
Direct neighbour says she has a hearing problem no shit as she leaves her windows open to the widest they go and her TV is backed onto my bedroom so I can hear word for word what programme she has on if my window is slightly open(can hear it muffled if my windows are closed) so I can't open the windows and I too am in London where it's hot!

Jobwelldone · 16/08/2025 08:08

This year is the first in about 15 when all has been relatively peaceful-our noisy neighbour-‘Gobshite Gavin’ finally moved out last autumn.

He was a noisy pita -but not as awful
as some of your neighbours so you all have my sympathies

pilates · 16/08/2025 08:50

What a shame all these awful people can’t live together in the same street.
