What are these ants doing on the buddleia?

I just saw this on an under leaf. It looks like the ants are tending to the little yellow blobs?

Could the yellow blobs be some kind of beastie eggs and the ants are eating them or something?

The ants are eating Large White Butterfly eggs.
It's a good sign of a healthy eco system working in your garden.
