I remember being given fresh peas in a pod by my dad when I was very little, from the garden they were so sweet.

freshly ground black pepper on something at a friend’s house and it was so different to the ground pepper we had at home. It tasted alive!

my first Mexican meal at 18,fresh herbs and lime and sour cream. I couldn’t believe how good it tasted.

Elvers. My grandad used to fish for them when I was tiny. They were kept in a bucket in the back yard and were fried with bacon fat and an egg. Not sure I'd eat them now but they were so good 45 years ago

Great question! I vividly remember being allowed a taste of tandoori chicken when the grown ups got takeaway when I was about 10 (takeaway was a very, very rare treat for them as we were totally skint) and I can still taste the smoky spice in my memory, I'd never had anything like it.

I know what baby DD’s was.
The Easter just after her 1st birthday she had a tiny taste of chocolate. She immediately started trembling and clenching her little fists for more. The start of a love affair!
I’d never eaten breaded fried chicken until the age of 12. I had it as an in-flight meal and thought I’d gone to heaven…
