Tell me your favourite card games!

I'm on holiday with 16yo DD. She's suddenly decided cards are excellent, is practicing shuffling and wants to learn some games. I have taught rummy (obvs) and canasta and cribbage. But now am a bit stuck. Can you recommend some fun games for two? I used to play something called shithead but can't remember how.

This is pretty much the shithead we play however our cards are
10 - goes on anything, clears the pile
7 - goes on anything, invisible so play on the card below
2 - goes on anything, play begins again from 2

8 - can only go in order - miss a go
9 - can only go in order - lower than a 9 for the next go only

Sevens is good for two. Easy to find instructions by googling.

Oooh thank you - will be looking up Sevens and Speed. I think speed rings a bell from my youth.

That is exactly it I think, I posted a link to the rules of the game you said you used to play and it didn’t like it. If you google it though, the game is well known and the rules come up.

New Market is a favourite of ours

I used to love playing Spit - it’s so fast but really engaging!

Well Speed / Spit is a hit and DD now teaching her cousins.

Yessss New Market is fab, but I think needs a few more people, love a bit of a gamble.
