Where can I take elderly DM for day trip?

My elderly DM is largely confined to a wheelchair when out and, as a result, largely stays at home so I’m thinking about taking her in a day trip to the seaside. She would love just to sit in a nice cafe looking out to sea and I’m thinking that the south coast would be best journey wise for her. Any suggestions of somewhere nice in West Sussex or Kent perhaps? We could maybe wait until September when everywhere will be a bit quieter but I’m looking for decent cafes, nice places to rest and just enjoy the scenery. Thanks.

Littlehampton beach is good. There are two long beaches, and a modern cafe.
