Better ideas of what to browse online

I sometimes feel with all the possible potential knowledge online, I waste my time browsing on my IPad and wonder if I am missing some good sites? Does anyone else feel like this?

I would love to learn and read more about history - but in a friendly way and not like I’m studying it.

I generally look at the following:

Mumsnet - great for an easy read but really I’m just being nosy into other people’s problems/ views on life. ( I can waste hours on this site….)

Daily Fail - yes I read it. it’s free and I don’t take it seriously. Just good for a bit of show biz gossip.

Facebook - showing my age but gives me news on a hobby I am in.

Twitter - echo chamber and just makes me mad.

Apple News - more balanced. Actually probably the best site but again not in much depth. Snippets of stories and again have to be aware of bias of author.

BBC - I don’t feel it’s impartial now

Perhaps it’s just me but with AI scanning the web and seeming to know the answer to everything, I feel there must be better sites I can read, that still feels relaxing/ entertaining/ a good read and adding to my knowledge of current/world affairs and just interesting things.

I just wondered what other people’s go to sites are?

If you like learning about history in a friendly way, there are so many history podcasts out there, The Rest is History, You’re Dead to Me, Titanic Ship of Dreams to name just a few.

Often wonder similar - it’s easy to spend hours on Mumsnet, Reddit, news sites and there must be far more worthwhile stuff out there!
