Help me think of a present for DD's boyfriend

Help please! DD's boyfriend is about to turn 18, and it's just occurred to me that I really ought to get him something (they've been together just over a year, first "proper" boyfriend, hence why this is new to me).

I know he likes gaming and fitness/gym related activities, but don't really know much about his likes and dislikes otherwise. He's (hopefully) going to university next month, so could get him something to take with him, but stuck for ideas.

Posh aftershave. Ask your DD what he likes?

Surely the obvious answer is to ask your DD who knows him well rather than a load of strangers?!

Just get him a hoodie.

I did. She said I should just get what I thought and that he wouldn't expect anything.

Get him a t-shirt with a fun slogan of some kind on, or picture of a band he likes. Or maybe voucher for somewhere like pizza hut or nandos ...wherever so he can get something to eat when he's skint at uni . Don't need to spend much if you don't know that him well

I’d get him a voucher then he can choose whether or not to spend it on something he needs or something more fun.
