What are you doing over a sunny weekend?

I have a long weekend off this weekend with the dc (11 and 9). Forecast is lovely. Just not sure what to do to make it nice for them ...

• We can't go away as pet sitting for a friend.
• Nowhere near the coast
• Localish lido is fully booked
• We have a nice garden but already spent a few days at home this week and suspect they'll get a bit bored/ dont have a 'paddling pool' type thing
• Friends are mostly away/ busy.

Any inspiration? Feel we should have lovely plans but are a bit aimless...

What do you have nearby?

Any NT places you want to visit? Nice woodlands? Country walks?

Do you all like the sun / heat or want to avoid it?

I love the sun, but dc don't like it too hot. I had promised them a zoo trip but it's quite a drive and I think they'll melt in the sun.

I feel we 'should' be doing something different and take advantage of the hot weather, but maybe I need to let that go!

Buy an inexpensive paddling pool?
