Mortified - new apartment blinds not so private

Moved in to a new apartment. It’s in a block where all other living rooms essentially face into my bedroom. We have venetian blind. I thought it looked pretty well hidden/closed off with the blinds closed.

Had an evening to myself with the ‘rabbit master 3000’. Turns out, you can easily see through the slits in the blinds. Especially with the lights on inside but dark outside, which I had.

How will I meet the neighbours now?

How do you know people can definitely see in?

DH returned home from work yesterday and said he could see what I was watching on TV through the slats.

Always tilt venetian blinds upwards on the outside if that makes sense. That should work unless there are floors above you.

Youll know to turn the light off next time. Remember the TV will be far more visible.

But seeing the TV through the slats surely just means he could see the flickering the TV. I doubt you could be seen. When my Venetian blinds are closed you can see though but could see light.
