Buying a nespresso machine in Manchester

Is there anywhere in the city centre (not Trafford centre) where you can sample the coffee from a pod machine before buying? I’d assumed John Lewis but it seems not according to the nespresso website? There’s only a John Lewis in the Trafford centre?

Not that I’m aware of, sadly. I’ve had a quick look on House of Fraser’s website but they don’t even seem to stock Nespresso machines anymore.

There is a large John Lewis in Cheadle but it’s unlikely they’ll offer sampling. You could always ask in advance if that’s somewhere you can get to.

I was in the Nespresso store at the TC just last week and they were very good offering samples but I appreciate you have said you don’t want to go there.

Newer models only take the new style capsules. I made a point of buying a machine that took the original style as these are widely available - and much cheaper than the Nespresso capsules.

There is a Nespresso shop in the Trafford Centre. I have Googled and apparently it is still open. You can go to the back and taste a couple and also return used pods there.

@whiteroseredrose bit of a waste of time googling then. OP specifically said not the Trafford Centre.

Thanks everyone. I think I got selfridges and JL muddled up and thought there was a JL in town and the Trafford centre. but that’s selfridges, who do sell the machines by the looks of it but don’t think they do coffee sampling. I’ll try. 😁

I’m only in town for six hours between trains and don’t want to trek over to Trafford centre. I’ll have to leave it for another day.

Yes. Definitely want an original pod one.

Ebay? Didn't know original was still made.

The citiz model takes the original shaped pods.
