Family group next to me.

9-10 year old has been throwing a screaming fit for 15 mins because they’ve run out of eggs. 7-8 adults all trying to placate that the shop will be open soon

I have eggs. I’ve gone over and offered my eggs. I’m leaving in an hour. I don’t need them

Mum says “oh that’s kind but we only eat organic eggs, thanks though”

No no that’s fine, we’ll all just listen to your kid scream like a loon until the shop is open then 😡

The mum must be a Mumsnetter.

GeniuneWorkOfFart · 11/08/2025 08:17

WTF

I mean, I also would have refused the eggs you offered but on the grounds that screaming doesn't get you the desired result. But then I would also be doing something about the screaming!

Nexti · 11/08/2025 08:23

I hope she is a mumsnetter

And if you are reading this please discuss with the multiple snorers in your group that treatment options are available

Omg talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face. Stupid is as stupid does.

thinklagoon · 11/08/2025 08:59

The mum’s response is hilarious.

blackheartsgirl · 11/08/2025 09:08

Well they’ll be stuffed if the shop doesn’t sell organic eggs. They’ll be regretting not taking yours 😆

PeonyBulb · 11/08/2025 09:49

I’d have been quite blunt and said I’m only offering you these eggs to shut your child up that you seem to have no control over whatsoever

Brefugee · 11/08/2025 09:51

haha, i have spent a lot of years camping in Europe. In particular the campers with cars with NL plates would have put a stop to that noise after 2 minutes.

And i would have said, fine don't have the eggs. Stop that noise.

Bloody hell! They'll be a post on here soon .... "can't believe a fellow camper offered me non-organic eggs".

We've had some odd camping experiences ... the worst was the loud strict mum in a neighbouring tent with her son who was about 8/9. She kept repeating the very small area he was allowed to roam around the tent. Roam being a bit strong as it was about 10ft around it.

Some other kids came over asking him to come and play football etc ... the boy look delighted ... the mum just screamed "NOOO, I've told you several times what the rules are, and this involves moving over that boundary". Why on earth did she take the poor kid camping in the first place. He looked so miserable, watching the other kids, bordering on abuse really.

Ahhh, the joys of camping! Grin OP, how could you - the very idea that such a darling of a child could be expected to eat non-organic eggs!

We still have a laugh about a very fierce argument between a rather posh couple in the next tent -
"where are my socks - WHERE ARE MY SOCKS"
"I don't know where your socks are"
"yes you do, you had my socks"
"I did not have your socks"
"yes you did - where are my socks"
"don't you speak to ME like that"
and on and on it went. Never did find out if he found his socks Grin

I’ve left, screaming was still ongoing

why do these kids always have wooden fucking swords ?

That is really sad

Having said that after I lost my own kid for four hours and had CALLED THE POLICE I understand her pain

(my kid was watching an iPad in someone else’s tent). I was murderous!
