Can anyone recommend a good ready made naan, chapati or roti?

Do these exist and if so can you recommend any . I have a Tesco with a very large world foods section and a Sainsbury’s with a fairly big section. Oh and an Aldi and a Lidl within range . Thanks

I like Riya’s wholemeal rotis. (But I think they’re more like a chappati!). I get them at Sainsburys

I know you didn't ask about paratha but the frozen ones you cook in a frying pan are delicious

Ha - I was just about to recommend these - they are amazing! We get the Shana ones.

Second this! The brand I have is Shana.

Shana paratha! You can do them in the air fryer as well

Ferretedaway · 10/08/2025 20:59

Thank you so much. This is such a help. Forgot to ask about paratha. Freezer ones would be even better. I’ll get these and the wholemeal roti too .

Do you live near any Asian food shops, they sell packaged bread and I think they are far better than any supermarket bread. They are probably baked locally.

ayepecking · 10/08/2025 21:01

The only one that I would buy is Shana paratha. They are delicious. Other than them we just make rice as the rest tbh are quite dire.

Yes, frozen parathas! Plain and the filled ones.

Tesco's fresh naans, in the fridge are the best ones I have tried. I sprinkle water over and grill them. But they are not as good as proper ones.

I do live near Asian food shops. I didn’t think of there being ones that might be made locally. I’ll go take a look thanks. I’ve tried to make my own chapati but they’re terrible .

Well this is a revelation, I had not thought of this, perfect

Cofresh branded naan frozen from Tesco - really lovely and fresh tasting

PersephoneSmith · 10/08/2025 22:30

I also like the shani paratha. I recommend regal naan breads too.
plus everything else they sell as well! Crisps, sauces, cakes, Bombay mix in particular

I like the huge naan from Aldi. It’s nice and soft. Only needs a few mins in the oven

Ferretedaway · 11/08/2025 18:10

I couldn’t find the frozen paratha in Sainsbury’s today. Will try in Tesco tomorrow as I’m nearby . I’ll definitely try the Aldi naan too thanks megan
