Parking at Formby Lifeboat Road? 🏖️

DH, baby DS and I fancy a trip to the coast today.

We've never been to Formby / Crosby or Southport but have read that Formby is good, and the town is a nice place to visit.

We are NT members - will we be likely to get parking at Lifeboat Road today - around lunchtime?

I've also read that Formby Woods is a good walk - is there any parking there?

Formby beach/woods is National Trust, so just go on their website and it will tell you about the parking (yes, there is some, but I can't remember how many spaces).
Or you could go to see Anthony Gormley's Another Placce (the iron men,) - there is a small car park by the coast at Blundellsands.

The large national trust car park at formby woods is closed at the moment, and it gets really busy at the best of times.

Ainsdale beach is a good alternative if you just want large sandy beaches, sand dunes etc. Once your done with the beach it's only a 5 minute drive to Formby.

I think its £10 to park directly on the beach (as long as it's not a very high tide)

Thank you! Think we’re going to go later this week as we didn’t get our act together in time on Sunday 😅

In which case ignore what I said about parking on the beach at ainsdale, it's been closed for the week.

There are a couple of smaller car parks though but you will need to get there early!
