Experience of teeth being reattached after trauma??

My DS knocked out an adult tooth a few months ago. We didn't know to put it in milk but we did go to the hospital, and it was back in within 3 hours. This isn't ideal - the sooner the better really.

It's being closely monitored by the dentist. It's been about two months and so far, so good. We know that there's no way of knowing what the outcome will be, but has anyone got any experiences of anything similar? What was the outcome? I want to prepare myself.

Don't know if this will help but I did the same as a child and my dad (a dentist) put them back in and held them for what felt like ages. Im 57 now and theyve never moved or become discoloured. You'd never have known what I'd done!!

Yes!!!! That is really helpful, thank you. I think it might have been out for quite a bit longer than your's due to her not having a quick thinking dentist dad, however that has given me hope!
