Small lump on back of hand

Just that really, I have a small lump onbthe back of my hand that hurts when pressed. It doesnt move...and yes before anyone asks ive been on the phone to the Dr's twice this morning each time waiting 40 mins to get through before they hung up on me. I will try again tomorrow but does anyone know what this could be?

Beginnings of a ganglion cyst? Perfect spot for one.
I have one in a different location and it does hurt if pressed. It started off small, gets bigger, goes down then the cycle starts again.

I was coming on to say ganglion as well. Dr can check to put mind at rest and maybe get it scanned to confirm. My DS has small lump on collarbone and this is what the Dr did to check all okay.

I will still go to the Dr's obviously as its freaked me out a bit. Just a nightmare getting an appointment at the moment at my Dr's surgery.

Looks like a ganglion. The old-fashioned advice was to hit it with the family bible! 😂. Although I’m sure any heavy object would suffice.

The advice these days is do not hit it with a heavy item!
