Help identify an actress/character in a police drama pls

It's driving me mad for no reason.

She's the Chief Inspector or senior cop, boss of the main male detective character I think.

Something I have watched in the last 5 years. British and definitely BBC or ITV, a 9pm show.

She's petite, 50s, short dark hair. Quite sharp, stern face / manner. Slightly northern accent. Raises an eyebrow regularly.
