I haven't eaten them for a couple of years and bought a packet today.
my routine of "full moon, half moon, total eclipse" was not as satisfying as it used to be.

I dont eat Jaffa Cakes but loads of foods are smaller than they used to be, shrinkflation has been a thing for a good while now

Have you tried googling to see what weight you used to get in a pack?

Lifestooshort71 · 04/08/2025 20:03

You're probably right. A Wispa is now gobbled down in 3 bites and a Marathon ice cream is hardly worth the massive box that 4 rattle around in. Life's full of disappointments but for your chocolate treats to let you down.....a very low blow 😮‍💨

Teacakequeen · 04/08/2025 20:04

I thought this when I bought a packet the other day.

Ted27 · 04/08/2025 20:05

I bought a packet if limited edition hot honey ones last week and that was my first thought.

Not much bigger than the mini snack ones

Isabelle70 · 04/08/2025 20:05

Yes and only 10 in a packet rather than the original 12 :(

Oftenaddled · 04/08/2025 20:07

Smaller, and thinner:

The popular treats have been made a tenth smaller, going from 5.5 to 5cm across. The tangy orange bump has also been made smaller, being cut from from 4cm to 3cm while the weight of each cake has gone from 12.2g to 11g

Fury as Jaffa Cakes are cut in size with McVitie’s accused of 'shrinkflation'

McVitie’s have been accused of 'shrinkflation' after cutting the size of Jaffa Cakes in the latest bid from high street brands to cut costs.

Either that or my mouth is bigger 😆 Think there are 10 in a pack now? There used to be 12? Don't quote me.

FrankyGoesToBollywood · 04/08/2025 20:09

Yes they’re very small now and fewer in a packet

ThejoyofNC · 04/08/2025 20:10

God knows, I can't buy the buggers because I know for a fact I'll eat the entire pack.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 04/08/2025 20:18

I thought it was all to do with comparative size and I was getting bigger...

There is a discussion on Wikipedia that covers the size of Wagon Wheels (which we ALL KNOW have got smaller) whilst Burtons deny it. 🫤

Ilovemyshed · 04/08/2025 20:20

Darling, EVERYTHING is smaller now except my waistline.

FiveCustardTarts · 04/08/2025 20:40

i wouldn’t be surprised. Everything has shrunk.

hellsbells99 · 04/08/2025 20:41

I wish I hadn’t clicked on this thread - I now really want a pack of Jaffa Cakes!

MakeItToTheMoon · 04/08/2025 20:43

Yes! Definitely smaller. These companies really think we won’t notice changes when we’ve been eating these products our whole lives, it’s infuriating.

The other day we bought viscount biscuits and they were so tiny.

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 04/08/2025 20:43

Most chocolate bars are smaller these days.
