Help me solve the mystery of my dishwasher!

This will probably be the most boring thread of the day so thanks for being here!

Can anyone help me discover why, no matter the brand, dishwasher tablets don't dissolve in my dishwasher?

I have followed all the troubleshooting advice I have found online. There's no blockages, all the trays are fully pushed in and there's ample water supply.

I have tried putting the tablet at the bottom of the dishwasher instead of using the little compartment but then the dishes weren't getting properly cleaned, sometimes half the load would come out with food dried on.

It's a six year old Bosch and is otherwise in fine working order.

Is it actually heating the water/using hot water?

Are you using a Rinse aid? It stops all the little bits sticking. Also, have you taken the filter out to check if it has split?

are you leaving the space in front of the compartment which holds the tablet free . I never realised the water has to flush the tablet out so it dissolves in the bottom. I always assumed the tablet just fell out to the bottom when the door flipped open . I had the same issue when i put tall plates in front of the compartment . Now i put the cutlery rack there and it seems to have solved it.

Have a look closely at the rotating spray arms. I have had to unclog these before. Use a cocktail stick to winkle out any gunk. (I lead an exciting life, as you can tell.)

Once upon a time.... I had a similar problem. I discovered that I really (reluctantly) needed to clean the gunge from the rotating arms. That really improved the water supply and all was well again. But I've just read your post again OP and you say your water supply is fine. OK, back to the drawing board!

I hate doing that so much. All the poking around, shaking the arm and trying to flush water through it.
is there an easier way? A hack that I don’t know about?

Re unclogging the sprayer arms: I’ve not had this problem since I started using a dishwasher cleaning thingy every few months.

I use rinse aid and dishwasher salt, the spinning arms are clear, the filter is clean and when I open the dishwasher after the cycles have finished everything is red hot. Water is going in and getting heated up
