Is anyone knowledgable about STD’s? Or work in sexual health?

I have ordered home testing kit for STD’s from my local sexual health clinic. They test for the 4 main STD’s (chlamydia, gonorrhoea, hiv and syphilis). The reason I need tested is due to suffering from 3 months of intrusive thoughts following a period of being black out drunk at an event. I just have to rule this out. The only thing is, I know I have to take vaginal swabs. What if there was anal penetration? This wouldn’t show up in the results, would it? Do I need to organise different tests?

I would go to clinic and get the swabs taken by a healthcare professional.

Long story but I can’t go to a clinic. I would have to either organise other tests from the clinic (if this is a thing) or buy them privately.

Yes I did. I asked this question in my previous post but didn’t get any replies. So that’s why I have posted asking this specific question.

I'm pretty sure you would have known the next day if you'd been anally penetrated OP. If you're unsure though then yes Google at least suggests you need anal swabbing for chlamydia.
It all sounds very distressing - do you think you were drugged and or raped OP? I hope you're getting some help with all this.

OP, I read your previous post. It sounds like you have guilt about what happened and that has translated into intrusive thoughts. This is common with OCD - fearing that you’ve been unfaithful to a partner (even when you know you haven’t) is quite common.

You would absolutely know if you had had anal
sex. You would be sore and possibly bleeding. This is your anxiety talking, and that’s what you need support with. You will get the all-clear from these tests, in all probability, but your brain will then tell you that they are not 100% accurate or there is another disease you might have that they don’t test for. Please seek help for your anxiety, which is at the root of all this.
