Good shoes? For walking and standing all day

I typed my foot issues into chatgpt and it came back recommending a few different shoes.

It recommended hoka shoes, brooks or a sketchers for more budget friendly.

I am looking at hoka shoes but they are so expensive.

Are they worth it? Any experience. My current shoes used to be ECCO but now it's fitflops (shoes).

Have a look at Clarks 'Funny Dream' shoes which resemble Cornish pasties 😂
They are well made, very comfortable and worth every penny.
Have a look on Vinted, Marketplace or eBay for a better price than retail.
I'm a teacher who stands for at least 10 hours a day and it's these shoes that make it possible.

Sketchers are amazing

Also recommend sketchers - not sure of your foot woes, but I have incredibly flat feet and sketchers have been a game changer for me!

Yes, Sketchers are great. Like walking on cushions.

Sketchers gave me awful knee pain, no support at all. I like asics and chose ones with support, not neutral ones.
If you go to a sports shop, they should be able to advise you based on your foot type.

Skechers absolutely destroyed my feet due to plantar fasciitis which lasted a good 6 mo the after I stopped wearing them. Avoid! You want something with good arch support and as above, go to a proper sport shop to get a gait analysis done. Don’t bother with JD or Sports Direct, go to an independent

I'm nearly interested in hoka shoes because I know my hairdresser wears that brand and he would be on his feet all day.

I recommend sketchers, the lace up ones.

Hokas are very good. Have been fab for my sporty dd who has knee problems.

If you get Skechers be careful which ones - the easy-slip on style runs quite large and whilst comfortable I would only wear in town not off road.

ASICS are fantastic.

You can get new trainers on vinted op - check for new hokas in your size in there and make an offer!

ASICS are fantastic.

Like walking on a cloud, I got a pair of Nimbus from Vinted, they’re nothing like any other trainers I’ve ever had.

I have Clark’s, Hotter, Hush Puppies block heels, all of which I can wear all day (also a teacher and on my feet most of the day).
