I’d like you buy a my friends DD (8) some stationery, pens, pencil case and colouring books etc as a gift are there any popular ranges that I should be looking at, please ? I’d hate to get her something which is old fashioned and she’d not want to use.

Agree with Smiggle! Legami erasable pens and associated bits of stationery are also extremely popular with my 8yo and her friends.

SophiaSW1 · 30/07/2025 16:16

Mine are 8 and are beyond smiggle as are their friends. It’s more popular here for up to 6 yrs olds I’d say.

Stripeysockspots · 30/07/2025 16:19

Yes agree smiggle is a bit young for 8+ and it's so expensive for what you get. The quality is also poor.

I would go with posca pens and a very thick paper pad and maybe some bits to use the pens on like small wooden trinket boxes.

If you have a big Tesco’s near you, they often have the paperchase range.

Artbox, Miniso and Flying tiger all do very cool stationary. My dd has see a sausage dog pencil case in Dunelm that she’d like this year, and she often finds cool stuff in Claire’s. Kawaii and Stitch are very in right now!

Legami pens for sure! Come in single
pens or sets. From Amazon or Rymans shops

GardenOfTomatoes · 30/07/2025 18:15

Colouring books wise, Coco Wyo are popular and have lots to choose from. A couple of their books are just £4 on Amazon.

my DD also likes this one which reminds her of caravan holidays to the seaside www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F9XGZNYQ

If she likes animals then this colouring book is great as Highland cows are super popular right now 🐮😃

Good quality & reasonable prices. Lots of art & craft stuff, coloured paper & card. You could make up a lovely set for her.

Lancstofrance · 30/07/2025 18:37

This is great for her age up to adults and the author also has a gratitude journal perfect for encouraging self care and good mental health practice https://amzn.to/3GECLts

My kids love typo. They are a bit older but they have loved the notebooks for years.

LostMySocks · 30/07/2025 18:53

Legami erasable pens are all the rage at DS school. He's Y4 and still buying them.

Ak732087D · 30/07/2025 22:43

Oh thank you all so much for the replies, I really appreciate it 💐. I’ll have a look online now.

I like the travel range. To travel is to live. It's more grown up, then some of there other ranges. I have a few of their note books from that range

Smiggle and Flying tiger!
Also you can make something personalized, like a desk pad calendar with her favorite character(s)
