Have you ever shared bills with other tenants in a building?

I'm looking to move. One property I have seen shares a percentage of the gas, electricity and water bills with the other tennants. I feel a bit anxious as I can control what I use at home and then budget accordingly.

Has anyone any experience of this to share please?

No, sounds like a recipe for disaster.

What a weird set up. Wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. It’s very easy to put in separate meters for all those things. We did it in our house because we ran electric and water to an outbuilding that we use as a business premises. It would make me question what other corners had been cut and why (eg grow op in loft).
