Does anyone else just want to have a bit of a moan?

I’m having surgery in two days. People at work know. My colleague has turned up today proudly declaring she has the virus her husband has been suffering with all week, she feels “rough as” but has come in anyway to “solder on”… cue me shutting my door, frantically trying to find some hand sanitiser and washing my hands 10 million times today!

Add on the tourists that are all over my town and the fact it’s suddenly hot again, I’m in a right bad mood 😒 anyone else just want a bit of a (lighthearted) moan?

I guess she shouldn't have to stay home though. If you're worried maybe you should stay off a couple days prior to operation. If i was ill but well enough to work if go. I'm not using my sick days for something I'm able to work through.
Hand sanitiser isn't going to save you unfortunately. Lots of virus are air bound.

I just think it’s really selfish, especially when you’re then loudly declaring to everyone that you’re leaving early because you “feel pants” 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think that’s a fair enough reason for a moan! I also hate it when people, come into work and spread their germs, particularly if it’s the type of job where they could have just worked from home.

I have a minor moan that my best friend of 30 years cannot remember that I like coffee. Every time she offers a hot drink she says “oh you don’t drink hot drinks do you?” Everyone else in my life knows I’m a coffee addict!

Yes she could’ve easily worked from home!!

I hate that. My dad, even after 26 years, refuses to remember that I don’t drink fizzy drinks!

Yanbu i cant stand people who soldier on and come in to work to spread their germs. If your ill stay home I dont want your sickness bug or even your cold to be honest. So if you absolutely insist on coming in to be a martyr stay the hell away from me.

"using my sick days" - this always makes me cringe. You are either sick or you aren't .

Yes that’s what’s annoyed me. Being the martyr, telling everyone she feels so unwell. She knows full well I have a surgery coming up and other members of the office are vulnerable to bugs etc.

I want to whinge about the number of people who basically say “but what about meeee?” whenever someone else’s tough situation is (quite rightly) causing concern. Especially if they have done something tiny in comparison to the larger, genuine issue at stake.
