Setting house alarm to go to bed, do you?

A couple of not very nice incidents in the road I live in this week has made me set my house alarm to go to bed, but, since having come upstairs ive wanted to go back downstairs for things twice and had to through the whole rigamarole of unsetting and resetting it.

my alarm is very old and am wondering if it would be worth updating it to include a panic alarm as I live alone and have found it very unsettling what happened to close neighbours.

I would update it to include a panic alarm.

I live in a 'naice' area but set the alarm each night. I would spend whatever it took to have peace of mind. I understand that we're all different but having been burgled years ago, I need to feel safe and the house needs to be secure.
