40th birthday

DH’s big birthday in 41 days. I was laid off and don’t have a job yet so don’t have too much ££££ but can spend about £1k in total.

Looking for some cheap ideas to get the ball rolling. Have a DC and no night childcare available. So can only do day out stuff.

Thank you ☺️

If he likes cricket, has he been to a match at Lord’s? It’s a lovely ground, easy to get to, and lots of nice restaurants and cafes in St John’s Wood. Or if there isn’t a match on at a convenient time, has he been on the tour? It’s quite good.

Yes he’s seen cricket matches all over the country so he’s been to Lords, Oval, Old Trafford (where England just played), etc . I’ll get him the tour though.

Hot air balloon might be fun. And quite fitting in so many ways.

Lord, if I just lost my job, no way I’d be spending money on dh’s birthday celebrations and no way he’d want me to be.

For my 40th, I got a lie in, probably a day to do something of my choice (picnic and wild swimming) and Dh made me a nice dinner at home (we had raw oysters because they are my favourite, clams and linguine, probably something chocolate for pudding). Cost maybe £50 because he had to order in the oysters by post.
