Swimming with contacts. Best goggles?

I’m getting back into swimming at the gym pool after ignoring it for years. I’m as blind as a bat without my contacts. Any recommendations for best fitting goggles? I want to swim properly and put my face in the water.

Don't think you're supposed to swim with contacts in. You can buy prescription goggles that might help

Agree with pp.
I used to work with an optom, either get fitted for daily disposables just for swimming (change and remove when you get out of the pool) or buy prescription goggles, they are cheap enough and even DS (+6.75 with astigmatism in both eyes) managed fine with swimming goggles

Agree with above - do not swim with contacts. A friend nearly lost her eye with bacteria. Wear prescription goggles.

Prescription goggles are brilliant and much cheaper than they used to be - have you ever tried them?

Prescription goggles would be far safer. They are not that expensive if you get the ones that are close to (but not exactly) your prescription

I know you're not meant to swim with them, but I struggle without them, I have really bad eyesight. I use 2XU goggles which have never let water in.

The only time I have swum with contacts is when using disposable ones and I would always remove them straight afterwards. I wouldn't in any other circumstances consider swimming with contacts in. And even this isn't recommended by opticians

So as I haven't worn contacts in a few years and I'm blind as a bat I get prescription goggles for swimming.

Edited for spelling.

Swimming goggles with corrective prescription lenses

Prescription swimming goggles are perfect for anyone who would rather not wear their glasses in the pool or risk the dangers of swimming in contact lenses. Optical swimming goggles look just like regular swimming goggles, but instead of standard clear...

I swim with contacts in and have done for years. I use dailies and take them out straight after. Multiple opticians have said told me this is ok.

With regards to the best fitting goggles, everyone has a different shaped face so you need to find one that works for you. What you need to do is test a pair by pressing them on your face without the strap and if they stay put you have a good fit. They do a similar thing if you ever go snorkelling.

Happy swimming.

I recently got prescription goggles from Specsavers. Not my exact prescription, but close enough. £25, and they're brilliant.

Thank you for the website @MigGril so easy to use. I have been trawling Amazon and waiting for transit from China, this is much easier!
