This little baby's injuries are horrific. Parents were violent addicts and baby was due to be removed at birth anyway.

How was this scum allowed anywhere near the baby without supervision in the first place? Where were the staff? This was a SCBU for heaven's sake!

The maternity and SCBU have closed temporarily, so there were obviously serious problems ongoing there. Such a tragedy. RIP baby Brendon.

From what I read, the staff were scared of him.

That poor baby.

Horrible story.

I don't understand why it says "The jury previously found Staddon not guilty of murder and cleared Gunter of causing or allowing the death of a child on the direction of the trial judge, Mr Justice Swift." ? I'm not familiar with the case but was this an appeal?

Edited to add: I now realise those are different charges!
