  • Those bloody CD players you’d wear around your neck with headphones attached
  • HMV
  • BLOCKBUSTERS!
  • The chinese man who always knocked on our door selling dvd’s, half of which were in chinese and we’d have to read the english subs 😂
  • S Club 7
  • Britney Spears
  • Kylie Minogue
  • Rugrats
  • Telletubbies
  • Tweenies
  • Noddy
  • Coffee Republic
  • The power puff girls

Tbh, the whole thing was a vibe.

I loved those massive, impractical cargo trousers.

Like All Saints had? 😅

Indeed! Funnily enough I was listening to them today

They were SO cool 😎

Also - things in cereal boxes and crisp packets. It was my favourite thing about being an only child, not having to fight over the colour changing spoons and bike reflectors.

Haha yes – never see this now.

We had the internet but it was dial-up not Wi-Fi, so had to be connected to the phone line, we could only access the internet at certain times, as we could use the phone at the same time.

Logo the clothing store or even logo for less

I remember my mum complaining about a huge phone bill, it was me trying to email my friends 🤣

Re Primark - I don't think I went to one pre 2000. What was it like? Pretty much cheap and cheerful to the max now

ValBiro · 25/07/2025 23:24

99p cassette tape singles in Our Price
Heather Shimmer
G-Shock Baby G watches
Reebok Classics
Adidas track bottoms - shiny ones with poppers up the leg

There was a feature on msn wasn’t there (was it a nudge?) to get the other person to respond 😂

A poke 😂

YelramBob · 25/07/2025 23:26

Teletext holidays 😱

PearlCity · 25/07/2025 23:27

How old were you? La Senza and Tweenies?

zaazaazoom · 25/07/2025 23:31

I was a teenager when the 90s kicked in so it was raving in fields, lots of crop tops, combats and fun drugs.
Prisoner Cell Block H, Twin Peaks and Buffy.
Drinking pints for a £1 aged 14 from the pub and getting into clubs at 15.
Dancing all night. Magic mushrooms on mid summer. No fucking phones. Lots of time with friends, adventure and putting up with twatty men that you learnt to tell to fuck off.

TurquoiseDress · 25/07/2025 23:35

Oh I remember sometime around 1997 trying to channel All Saints with a massive pair of cargo trousers & crop top- I definitely had the flat tummy to pull it off then!

Oh and SNAKE! Yes! I’m trying to convince my 11 year old that a Nokia will have its plus points, instead of giving in to smartphone madness…WTF a 10/11 year old needs a smartphone I don’t know…bring back the 90s when we weren’t all glued to a screen!

TurquoiseDress · 25/07/2025 23:36

I became a teenager during the 90s and all my memories are STRONG!

chocolatelover91 · 25/07/2025 23:37

This popped up on my Instagram yesterday. I felt so sad. Take me BACK!

salor moon

peanutbuttertoasty · 25/07/2025 23:38

Friends on a Friday night

Moonlightdust · 25/07/2025 23:41

So nostalgic for the 90s and wish my kids could’ve experienced this more slow-paced internet-free and more simpler, authentic time.

I was aged 5-15 years in the 90s so experienced both the whole kids and teen vibe! My memories include:

Playing for hours outside or even in my room with imaginary play
Penny sweets & 10p Freddos!
Baby born doll & Baby all gone
Quints dolls (anyone remember them?!)
Shout magazine
Sylvanian families
Kinder egg surprise collections (when they were actually decent! I collected the turtles and lions from memory)
Blow up sofa and lava lamp in my room
TV (was epic!) such as: Round the twist, Live & kicking, Sweet valley high, Dinosaurs, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Keenan & Kel, Art Attack, Saved by the bell, The fresh prince of Bel Air, Inspector Gadget, Top of the pops, Bernard’s watch, Brum, Sabrina the teenage witch.
Card & pog collections!
Mini crocodile clips for your hair (obsessed!)
Tattoo necklaces/bracelets
Trolls
Bodyshop bath pearls in all colours/shapes/flavours!
Recording songs from the radio onto a cassette tape!

Honestly the list is endless… so many happy memories 🥹

SweatyGibbon · 25/07/2025 23:41

@TurquoiseDress Seem to remember Hannah S Club as well a bit later (not that S Club were quite as cool, music wise!)

Roseinbloom20 · 25/07/2025 23:44

Blind date, gladiators, news round, 999! Top of the pops, TFI Friday 😌 what a time to be alive 🥰

It so was! Also remember as a family we used to watch neighbours, home & away followed by eastenders! And dreaded hearing Heartbeat theme song on a Sunday night as it meant school the next day! 😆

ScruffyTrouserMindFlip · 25/07/2025 23:58

My 2.5 and 4.5 yo have just watched / rewatched the entirety of "Number Time" with me. They hecking loved it. Some things are classics for a reason.

Currently watching / rewatching "Animals of Fathing Wood" - omg! The drama!! They don't make them like that anymore!

Would also recommend the 90s Beatrix Potter, if just for the flute bit at the beginning x

Why does a love's kiss stay in my memory? No-one has ever adequately answered that question imo.
