Vitally important- has anyone seen any Nescafe Toffee Nut sachets back in the shops yet?

I am serious. There has been a shortage of all flavours for ages. I resorted to buying it on Amazon but it’s now £32 a box which I refuse to pay. I am on my last box.

website said to expect stocks back in shops in early August. I am seeing other flavours but not toffee nut yet. I am debating trawling the supermarkets tomorrow.

That’s very, very nearly a 20% reduction! (19.84 to be precise). I assume the price hasn’t dropped that much.

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 27/07/2025 08:05

@daisychain01 right I have submitted my complaint. I’m also down to my last two sachets! 🙈

I doubt it will have dropped at all. Though in fairness they did used to be more expensive a couple of years ago. I can remember a period when I was regularly paying over £3 a box. They shot up in price pretty much overnight. Then after a few months the price dropped, I can only assume at the higher price sales were affected.

It’s actually worse. Have found an old photo on Tesco which says it used to be 18.6g per sachet. That’s a 33% reduction per box! It used to be £1.48 per 100g.

At £2.10 a box that’s £2.11 per 100g (43% increase). At £2.60 that increases to a whopping 78% increase!!!!!!

I might have to start investigating other options. M&S do toffee nut latte sachets but they cost more. Or I could try a coffee sachet and see if I can get syrup? Or wean myself onto non flavoured lattes. Or maybe stop drinking crap sachets.

I do actually have a bean to cup machine but it’s so much hassle. It’s needed descaling for six months and I can’t work out what to do! 😁

I have only joined so that I can be part of this thread 🤣 I do not like Coffee but have been obsessed with drinking these toffee nut lattes daily for about 6 years and I didn't realise how much I need them until this shortage! I've tried other ones and they are just not the same so if you do try the M&S ones please let us know how they compare. I resorted to buying every box I could find on ebay that wasn't over inflated but I think I have 2 weeks left if that and I actually dread the day I run out 🤣

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 27/07/2025 08:48

@Loulou1212 im the same, I don’t like normal plain coffee. I drink mochas when I’m out and about and then these sachets. I wish I liked non flavoured coffee.

No the price has not dropped. The bare faced cheek of it is they want to maintain their margin but at the expense of our wallet and taste buds.

The end of their reply to me was "thank you for your loyalty to Nescafe products" to which I replied that I find Nescafes approach to be disingenuous and indicative of their absence of care about their loyal customer so "please do not count on my loyalty to Nescafe products"

I did say in my previous message that I recognised they had to take the Corporate line on this matter so my points were not aimed at them personally.

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 27/07/2025 10:24

@daisychain01 i told them I won’t be drinking weak, watery coffee. That going down to one sachet was bad enough but reducing the actual product in a way which will affect the ratio and taste is beyond a joke.

This is so annoying. DD drinks either mocha or a vanilla or caramel flavour sachet every morning before school and I'm sure it helps her mood. I thought there were less on the shelf to make room for ice coffee products. (I hate to say it but the caramel one is nice - you add it to milk - but quite expensive). I'm disappointed about the shrink flation. At this rate I'll be buying the crap aldi version as there won't be any difference!

Blingismything · 27/07/2025 12:07

I haven’t seen the sachets yet, however last year I bought a limited edition toffee nut syrup by Monin. This would have been in Waitrose or Sainsbury’s around Christmas time.

We still don't seem to be able to buy any in supermarkets in our area. I drink decaf and take the sachets on holiday where decaf is not available. We also buy the lattes for coffee morning treats. I have noted what has been said here and sent Nescafe a strongly worded complaint. If anything I'd prefer they added to the price a little rather than ruin the quality.

daisychain01 · 27/07/2025 14:10

It's great that we're all taking a stand on this as there are wider implications than just our beloved cappuccino and latte treat. It's that FMCG (fast moving consuner goods) corporate are fleecing their loyal customers, failing to be transparent and relying on loyalty. They think we're daft, we are NOT!

I'll be loyal to any company who balances profit with customer satisfaction. The Moma story that I mentioned above shows that its possible to give feedback and for corporate to listen and act. Id love to think companies like Nestle or Mondelez give a flying 4X about what its customers want, good quality honest products at a price that enables us to have a bit of feel good factor at a time when it's pretty grim out there, but I think they care about lining their pockets first.

It will be really interesting to see how this evolves and if they row back on this most heinous example of shrinkflation I've ever seen based on everyone's feedback.

Let's face it, reducing the size of a Heroes or Celebrations tin still gives you the same product just fewer of them. Not so if you continously shave off actual ingredients, it reminds you how delicious the product used to be and how dreadful it has become.

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 28/07/2025 13:15

Had the standard fob off and offer of a Kit Kat sachet. Apparently there will be better value 12 sachet boxes coming. I’ve replied saying they are missing my main concern that a reduction of grams per sachet affects the product to water ratio and affects the taste.

What about those dolce gusto type of pod machines? You can get cheap versions of the pods in Lidl and AldI.

Same here and I have also written back in a similar vein also pointing out that whilst their email starts by saying they are committed to transparency, this change was anything but transparent

We’ve got one at work and they’re disgusting. Friend has a nespresso and I’m thinking about one of those and hoping the coffee might be better. Plus you still froth normal milk with nespresso so no nasty powdered milk in the capsule.

Ah right. Might not buy one of them for myself either then. 🫣

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 28/07/2025 17:26

Still no toffee nut sachets in Tesco but there are caramel latte ones. I spent a bit of time in the aisle looking at other options

Ive bought some tesco mocha sachets to try. There are also Costa ones available. I was also rather interested in the nespresso compatible pods. Tesco ones are a good price. The Starbucks ones were something like £3.50 for 10 pods. Costa pods £2.75 for ten. Think they had actual nespresso ones too which were £4 something for ten pods.

so apart from the nespresso brand the other compatible pods are cheaper than the nescafe sachets.

No toffee nut, but Sainsbury's had a good stock of the unsweetened cappuchino sachets I like. I think they were £1.75 with the nectar card, so I stocked up my supply for work.

FuckedOffWithTheLotOfThem · 30/07/2025 14:23

I've got a box of the Nescafe caramel lattes (just had one, in fact) and it's definitely more watery than before. 🙁

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 30/07/2025 14:36

Oh dear at the watery caramel latte

so Ocado who I’m assuming are an accurate barometer of stock will deliver toffee nut latte to me on Monday but not Sunday. So sounds like stock should hit beginning of next week. I have 8 boxes coming so I hope it’s not too watery.

a nespresso pod machine is seeming more tempting by the hour

Kitkat ones are ok. Taste more of hot chocolate rather than coffee though and no taste of kitkat specifically at all, just chocolate.
