How is there a beetle in my bedroom?

For the third time in a couple of months I have found a small black beetle in my bedroom. I have caught it and put it out. It’s not a cockroach. More like a beetle you’d find in the garden.

i don’t know how they get in. I’m in our loft conversion which is all newish. We’re on second floor, high up. Floors are all newish and intact. No holes or gaps in wall.

I usually have the Velux window open and we’re fairly close to lots of trees. Can they just crawl in at second storey level? DH says some fly.

Feel like fumigating the house!

Beetles do fly, or it could have been dropped by a bird, or come in on your clothing.

Yes they crawl up walls. I love beetles, they are so cute! Hate spiders though!

It’s just a beetle! Tiny little creature finding its way in the world and got stuck in your house. Pick ‘em up and pop them into the garden.

They fly ! Beetles are great.

They can fly. So they have flown in or dropped from the trees outside, through the window.

Thanks. Don’t think they are carpet beetles. I don’t kill them. I just don’t love them!
