What do I need from Costco?

I’m going to look around Costco tomorrow with a friend, to see if it’s worth buying a membership.

What should I look for while I’m there? Any delicious treats to try?

Chicken nuggets! They’re amazing

A massive jar of Truestart coffee and some blueberry muffins. To be enjoyed together!!

Also their kids books are a great price, I buy huge bags of nuts and dried mango too!

The big frozen spanakopitas. Keep a couple in the freezer and pull out when you need to do a quick and easy lunch for 4-6 people. Just add Greek salad!

Everyone always recommends the toilet rolls but they are awful these days. Pre covid they were excellent. I say this so often on these threads that my Google feed sends me reports of people complaining about the change!

I mainly buy:-

tin foil - lasts for ages
big bag of spicy prawn cracker things.
coffee muffins
cooked ribs
ready meals like enchiladas, lasagne, cooked chicken.

I'll also be picking up broccoli and cranberry salad and chocolate brazils after reading this thread.

hideawayforever · 22/07/2025 19:42

yes their big bags of mixed nuts too

Baked goods, cereals, juices, coffee beans, Nutella/jams/peanut butter etc. Pasta, spices, condiments, clothes, batteries, cooked chicken, fresh meat, cheeses, yogurts, toilet and kitchen rolls, two bite brownies (amazing), Kirkland fresh ready meals, cleaning/laundry stuff, foil/cling film, fizzy drinks, frozen stuff - chicken tenders, spring rolls, chicken bakes, hash browns, pizzas, fish, king prawns.

So much amazing stuff but do compare prices with elsewhere as not always cheaper. Kirkland stuff is great quality. Electricals often come with free 5 year warranty and their returns policy is outstanding. I love Costco and am fortunate to be able to store the bulk items, portion and freeze meat etc. If you can do this, it’s sooo worth it.

freshly prepared king prawn taco tray! It’s literally to die for! The prawns are huge and it’s £14.99 but will easily feed four hungry people!

Nocarella (sp) olives
Costal Cheese
Almonds

for your mate

Agarve
walnut halves
cream cakes
shortbread
red sea joint tablets (with Tumeric)

... oh no, that's my shop, not yours! 😂

lots I can't have because of dietary limitations these days, but prior to that lived their bagels (always on 2 for 1), carrot cake, muffins.

Jacob's crackers £5 for huge box (good per kg price!)

non food, puka notebooks!! If my mate comes, he always ends up buying some clothes & sketchers!!

just don't forget to look at the 'including vat' price! & also the size , everything seems huge when you get it home!

Dog biscuits
rotisserie chicken
water
toilet roll
teabags
olive oil
sauces
kirkland dishwasher tablets
kirkland laundry powder
cookies
boxes of wine
giant bottle of sangria
dog dental chews
can’t think of anything else at the mo 🤣

Always remember that the warehouse is so big it makes everything look small. We often buy things that look like they are in sensible sized trays then find when they are in our kitchen there is no way it will fit in the fridge.
