Moving gift for friend and children

My friend is moving next month and I am making her a photobook of our children’s adventures together over the past 3 and a halfish years (we met at a baby class) to take with her 💕 They are moving country so whilst I hope we will see each other again it is likely to be yearly at most if we do 🥺 We’re going on a day out together the week before they move and I’m trying to decide whether to have the photobook printed and give it to her on that day or wait until to a few days before they leave and drop it off with photos from the last day out printed out with it (there won’t be though time to have them printed in the book).

I’m also trying to think of little (plane travel sized) gifts that I can give to the children who are 4 and 7 but I can’t think of anything 🙈🙈

What a lovely idea! Wish I could think of something. I think it would be nice if the photo book was given to her when you go out together, as she will be so busy a few days before departure.

I was thinking that too but it just feels sad that I won’t be able to give her the photos from our last outing together that way 🤷‍♀️

I have had an idea of making some flight activity packs for the children but I don’t know if it’s a bit of a silly idea 🙈😂 I was thinking I could get those plastic folders with zips and put things like colouring sheets, pencils, sweets, little toys if I can find any ect. So it wouldn’t be something for them to keep but I can’t think of anything small that kids would keep 🤷‍♀️😂

Thats a lovely idea. What about a colouring book? I always keep a small set of pencils and colouring books with us when we are out for the kids. There's this New Home colouring book that I have https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cosy-New-Home-Colouring-Book/dp/B0FDWTCPJ7/ and my 3 year old loves this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Bilingual-Colouring-Book-English-French/dp/B0F7FCWTHK/

First of all, may I just say I LOVE your idea and this is so sweet and thoughtful of you! I really hope you'll be able to see each other at least yearly once she moves!

How about you make two items with photos, with the main being the photobook (and you'll include pictures from the last day as well) and the first one being something like a photo collage or a photo calendar with pictures you aren't including in the book? You can make your own calendar (here is a guide to create one) and add photos of the town you currently live in, places that are familiar to both of you, etc. Or you can make a picture collage, print it out and frame it. Either way, she'll have something when you will be hanging out and then you'll send her the book.
