What are you doing with your teens this Summer?

What are you all doing with teens this summer? I’m already fed up of cajoling, encouraging, arguing to get off screens and get out of the house.

I’m struggling with what to do with them; both boys, both have SN so don’t have a huge circle of friends. Neither have outdoorsy interests. One is 15 and the other 14. They are very different and neither likes the same activities as the other. They do have clubs twice weekly but that’s it.

Do I leave them to it and let them moan about being bored or force them out in to the world?

Put a dart board up?

Difficult to answer without knowing what their interests are

we have 16/14 one loves Warhammer other loves ball sports

but they will do poker, darts, DND, online gaming as a social thing, and there is some YouTube thing they all watch together

they have delivery jobs
volunteer at local green space

they will do (fun) chores

cycle to cafes
read
some work to stay on target for STEM studies

ours have other teenagers, that all seem to need feeding here, and will go anywhere any do almost anything

planning once youngster finishes to swim a few times a week
take them out for days, city stuff, some cultural things

watch some summer sporting events on tv
think we will do a LOTR film marathon with home made popcorn with various toppings as well as easy buffet food

eldest needs to learn more cooking (he will have to feed himself at uni) plus he is flirting at the moment (new love interest)

take basketball to local hoop

and plan on booking a holiday of some description will sort that out end of this week

Go to local forest for photoshoots (nothing online just for personal)

Youngest is going on a two-week summer camp, which helps as he's still not very good at organising stuff himself on the regular yet (he's nearly 14). Then a week after that we're going on holiday to Scotland.

Oldest (17) is pretty self organising and good at getting out of the house; they're doing a bit less this summer as they've been feeling a bit post viral and are taking it relatively easy.

18yo - we have a couple of gigs and overnights planned in various cities. She's working some. The rest is up to her.

15yo - we have a couple of days out planned, a gig, an exhibition in Manchester, and an overnight in London. She'll go out with friends (or one in particular who she often picnics with in nice weather). Some time on homework.

We'll probably do a shopping trip together, maybe seaside too.

That makes me sound made of money - it's honestly not costing that much & leaves everyone time to do their own thing/quiet at home time/spontaneously decide we'll do X thing together.
