There's no show we fancy, so what can we do DH and I at night after a meal.
Or is there a restaurant with live music or show type entertainment you'd recommend?? Not Mama Mia or The Greatest Showman! Cant stand either 😂

There's so much to choose from, when are you going, what music do you like, what area are you staying in.

Mnello · 20/07/2025 14:34

I know you said not a show but I wondered if you’ve checked out Choir of Men?

labradorservant · 20/07/2025 14:34

If you are all over 18 flight club is fun (darts)

There are lots of comedy venues in london. chortle.co.uk is good for finding out what's on and where. Some of the art galleries and museums stay open late. For live music consider the Dublin Castle in Camden, the Lexington or the Hope and Anchor in Islington, or Old Street Records. There's loads more if you're willing to get tickets in advance.

Some museums and galleries have late night openings and attractions like the Shard and Eye go into evenings. Southbank is always busy as is Covent Garden.

pinkdelight · 20/07/2025 14:56

I posted some links but MN went bonkers and blocked me for some reason, so back to say - Soho Theatre, Ronnie Scott’s, Soho Live, Comedy Store, 100 Club, Brasserie Zedel and loads of other cabaret places.

BellissimoGecko · 20/07/2025 14:58

Comedy club, evening walk or ghost tour, go up the a Sky Garden or the Shard, live music…

Eggybreadwithnuts · 20/07/2025 15:01

So these interest me...

Sky Garden Is there music?
Comedy Store went here years ago gosh possibly 25 years ago!

We are staying central, dont fancy guided tours or museums

We went to Ronnie Scott’s recently. You can have dinner there too but food is quite average. We just had drinks and enjoyed the music.

HoratioBum · 20/07/2025 15:04

Brasserie Zedel if you want dinner and cabaret?

or something like this… https://paradiseunderthestars.com/?et_u_id=da9b18a9-6b5b-4a77-adc0-ae4ec6ae466e-1753019688180

Look at what's on in London for the dates you're travelling, there are several free viewing platforms like the sky garden, there's classical music at the Albert hall, St Martins in the fields, the many bars and music venues, mooching around kings Cross, Covent garden, the royal Parks, a river trip to Greenwich, there's so much to do,

Are you interested in politics? Canal cafe theatre does a brilliant weekly news revue. It’s fabulous and really funny https://canalcafetheatre.com/

cimena · 20/07/2025 18:54

Second for Soho theatre, see a show, bar is great people watching as well. They do food, it’s good but not fancy so you could eat there or not. wander around Soho, dessert at quo vadis if they’ll have you or have a nightcap somewhere. Wandering from Soho up to St Pancras can be nice and the cocktail bar in the hotel there is good. Or south and stroll along the river

Spindleweed · 20/07/2025 18:56

See what’s on at the South Bank Centre, the Barbican, or Kings Place. If by ‘show’, you mean a musical, check what’s on at the NT, Donmar, Almeida etc.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 20/07/2025 20:15

It’s proms season

Ginmonkeyagain · 20/07/2025 20:25

I mean, Londoners generally go to the pub.

Summer evenings there are a lot of free outdoor events like film screenings, music events etc.. Have a look at places like Granary Square, the Southbank, More London. Slightly further out in places like Camden and Peckham some pubs may have a free or cheapish music or DJ nights. You are more likely to get things like that in the latter part of the week.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 20/07/2025 20:41

There are some outdoor cinema events on too. If go to the Sky Garden if I wasn't interested in shows. I'm planning to be outside the Palladium around 9pm when I'm there soon.
