Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. Dd2 was up before me again so she fed the kittens, and took her breakfast upstairs with her.

Today is likely to be another nothingy kind of day. There is a load of washing to be done and the hoover needs running round up and downstairs but that's about it.

I had planned to paint some peg dolls yesterday but went for a long nap instead, so I'll probably do that today, along with uploading some things to Vinted. I need to write a strongly worded email to my current landlord too - to tell him to stop organising contractors to do work without checking it's convenient. He seems to think it's ok to have arranged someone to be here next weekend when he was explicitly told any week day after 1:30pm and that weekends were out of bounds 😡.

We're having curry for tea tonight, followed by a nice early Self Care Sunday scrubby everything shower for me. I'll read for an hour or so afterwards, then get an early night ready for the last two days of term on Monday/Tuesday.

We have arrived from our hols this morning and are very jet lagged. The plan was to sleep on the journey home, stay awake today and get an early night. I’m already contemplating going to bed! It’s 3:30pm in the country we just arrived from so I’m guessing it will get worse as the day goes on.

one wash on, one to go - we were lucky to be able to do laundry while away, so not much to do. Had breakfast, got half through unpacking and needed a sit down.

any tips welcome. I’ve had 2 coffees.

Running through dressage test with DD ready for tomorrow (practising on foot in the arena lol 😆). Then off to see the Magna Carta at Durham cathedral + lunch.
Will pop in to see parents then have to sort all winter rugs out for taking to be washed and proofed.

Just finished hoovering the pool followed by the obligatory dip to make sure it’s clean enough 😂
then shower and off to lunch with good friends.
this afternoon probably spent reading my kindle and a bit of floating on the lilo.
then an evening playing cards, drinking wine and moaning about how hot it is 😝

Sorry your having problems with your landlord that’s all u need with trying to look for a new home as well .im just sat with a cuppa just hung washing out although weather looking but iffy here in south wales then as it’s only 3 of us we are goin for a carvery then I want to pop to Tesco to get flowers to go to cemetery. I either do them on a sat or sun without fail although I’m over there twice a day as it’s 3 houses away from me . Wishing u all a great and safe day 🫶

I'm still in bed. Still not feeling 100% so sacked off my exercise class and just chilling.
Will wait until I'm up before I decide if I will go to my volunteering role later.
DS had no plans for today but that may change. DH will be home early evening from his rock gig.

A lovely quiet Sunday planned here. Have had a cuppa, fed my senior boy cat who is now snoozing next to me on the sofa and seen to my neighbour’s cats while the neighbours are on holiday.

Final uniform wash on as DD breaks up on Tue, need to do a mini clean of the kitchen and phone my Mum for a good chat later. Then just looking forward to pottering about and not doing much! I’ve got a week and a half left of work and then I’ve got a couple of weeks off which can’t come quick enough.

Madly washing and cleaning. I always get obsessive about everything being clean before I go away on holiday. I just hate the thought of it all being there when I come back. I think time is against me though!

Morning all. End of term for me and end of 31 years teaching last Friday. Today, read my book, cook something nice, go to tip and perhaps peruse part time jobs. Have a good day everyone

Good morning @lucysmam & The Sunday Crew. That sounds a right pain about visiting contractors lucysmam. Hope your landlord complies. I’m in bed having had a cuppa with DH made by me. He’s just finishing in the bathroom then I’ll have a shower & wash my hair. Armpits pretty desperate for a shave! It’s still difficult for me to raise my right arm too high but I will have to give it a go. Not much planned for today. DH loaded & switched on the dishwasher last night so I’ll unload it when I get downstairs. It needs salt next time. Also have to put on a load of washing. Looks like rain again here so will probably tumble dry it. Hoovering didn’t get done yesterday so I’ll run Henry round plus the kitchen surfaces haven’t been wiped down. We are quite lax on that which isn’t good. I’m going to try a new de - greaser spray. Oh the excitement! 🤣🤣🤣Off to an out of town shopping centre this afternoon to get measured for a bra at M & S. It’s odd because I’ve lost loads of weight but my boobs seem to be getting bigger! So uncomfortable at the moment. Will pick up pizzas for tea whilst we’re there & I’ll treat myself to a tube of Swiss chocolate discs. So nice! I might buy flowers too. DH only ever gets flowers for me on Valentines Day & occasionally on our Anniversary or my Birthday. M & S ones seem to last quite well. DD16 has just said she will come with us as she wants to look in TK Maxx sale.Have a great day everyone ❤️

I'm having a bit of a rest day today. Yesterday I went out to a Traction Engine & vintage vehicle show with my brother, which was very interesting but I walked about a lot in the heat so I'm tired today. I'm going to do some piano practice ready for my lesson tomorrow and then spend most of the rest of day reading.

I had a lie in then had a shower and washed my hair
Put a wash on and just had a coffee
Dh is away and Dd has work at 4.00
We are having a cooked breakfast before Dd goes to work
Have a few jobs to do around home
Will take the dog for a walk later
Going to do some family history research this evening and probably watch tv
Will have an early night and listen to a podcast

I had another bad night... the fourth in a row... so I was awake early. I was very pleased to hear my little cat yowling for her breakfast. She is now so very frail I am constantly checking that she is still breathing when she is asleep. We are now keeping her shut in the house, which she isn't liking at all. Mr Dilemma put 3 different kinds of cat food down for her this morning, which she hasn't eaten. I gave her some mashed up pilchard which she was quite excited about, and ate about 2 mouthfuls of, so I'm not sure we are going to have her for very much longer. I'm hoping she just goes to sleep peacefully, but if she shows any signs of distress we will get the vet out immediately. She is, at least, still drinking.

We are about to go out to a supermarket (I'm letting Mr Dilemma choose which one) to top up my salad drawer and to get some more melons. I'm eating about 3/4 melon every day so need to get several. Mr Dilemma wants to get some tinned beans to put in a chilli. I have got the minced beef out of the freezer for the stuffed marrow I'm making for myself, which he doesn't like, and he will make himself some chilli, which I don't like. I will have the marrow tomorrow as we have some sausages to use up today. I expect Mr Dilemma will have his with egg, chips and beans. I'm having mine with baked sweet potato and probably the remains of the broccoli. I did a very nice stir fry last night with the leftover veg from the fridge, which I fully expected Mr Dilemma to make a fuss about as it contained peppers and mange tout amongst other things, and he doesn't like either of those, but he said it was nice, in fact he said it was delicious - which was a win! Mind you, I did only give him about 2 bits of pepper and he left one... and the mange tout was shredded so finely he would have found it difficult to avoid.

Currently summoning up the strength to do some cleaning...
Downstairs needs hoovering and mopping. The kitchen sides all need a good scrub, and probably a double going-over. I've got a shit-ton of clean washing to put away, and the bathrooms could ideally do with a clean. It's been a busy few weeks, and things have a bit got on top of us...

I can feel my period brewing as well, so I'd like to get these things done before curling up for the rest of the day.

I had thought about going out blackberry foraging at some point today, but it's still drizzling, so probably not.

Quiet Sunday here, I was up early this morning and have chucked Marry Me Chicken into slow cooker for later.
I then started sorting my wardrobe, they are fitted and had the bright idea to paint the back wall. Just having a cuppa and waiting for it to dry.

Out for cuppa and cake later at a pretty nursery nearby with my lovely friend.

Then it’s getting clothes and lunch ready for a day in the office tomorrow.

Well I had to drop the kids at RIAT this morning after finding out last night there is technically no drop off points 😞 though found a way

Obviously being Sunday non if the cafes I passed were open at 8am

Had a great sleep last night though was woken by DDog at 6am for a walk. He’s been really well behaved in our holiday home.

We are off to go meet family for a proper Sunday roast in a few hours. Very excited. Sunday roasts aren’t a huge thing in Scotland so very excited to go to a traditional Sunday roast while in England!

Swimming planned later and a general laze about.

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. I’m sitting in the garden under the big umbrella because it’s raining which I love!

Jobs for today include cleaning out the fridge, doing an inventory of the freezer and making a meal plan for the next week. Also want to tidy and clean our bedroom. We did a big sort out of the wardrobe yesterday and now inside it looks lovely but there’s stuff lying around that needs to be put away, along with the clean washing and get another load on.

Will walk the dog and probably have a dip in the hot tub afterwards if it’s not tipping it down. A quiet, homey sort of day.

the decluttering efforts are finally producing results, downstairs at least so might take a couple of charity shop bags upstairs and tackle our bedroom the dumping ground at the moment

just in limbo waiting for youngster school to finish really (Tuesday as well)

still trying to find a new car (second hand) that the teens could drive if/when they pass driving test - so a nice small slower one! Seems unfair but ho hum

once we know how much that costs can look at booking a holiday

Ive been up ages as usual but never manage to get to the thread till late.

Did my puzzles with a cup of tea and then had a lovely long chat with my best friend who lives in Sydney.

We discovered last night that the back of our fridge had iced up badly so I spent time this morning defrosting the iceberg with a hairdryer.

No plans today. Just pottering about with laundry etc. And I’m determined to finish my book today. We have had quite a bit of rain and more forecast so no gardening for me.

I should do a decluttering or deep cleaning task somewhere in the house.

Overslept so I missed my Sunday morning training class.

DH is at work.

So instead I'm doing laundry and waiting for the food delivery. Need to hang a clock at some stage.

But I think it'll be a lazy one..

Good afternoon everyone, it’s stopped raining for a bit after torrential downpours this morning.
We were out early for the dogs walk, it started raining as we got back.
I’ve spent the morning firstly trying to sort out where an eBay purchase got to (according to the seller it was delivered 3 weeks ago but the tracking photo definitely isn’t my house!), then a fruitless search for a book I know I bought last week 🤷🏼‍♀️
Anyway, a fridge forage lunch and I’m looking forward to spending the afternoon watching the Tour de France ( for the scenery mainly!)

Im at work.
Everyone has gone out.
The family i was supposed to go out with today has cancelled.
All my paperwork, plans and reports are up to date so chilling for a bit.
My manager encourages us to take downtime when we can because often things are so full on and stressful it doesn't happen often so im mnetting!

Good afternoon all! I broke off on holiday two weeks ago and I feel I haven't stopped since I've been so busy! So today is a self enforced lazy day. I can feel my period is on its way and if it was anything like last month's it will be horrific 😔 I'm showered and in clean PJ's now back in bed. Can't decide whether to read, watch another episode of the series I'm watching on Netflix or have a little power nap. I just feel so tired and drained today

Got out of bed at 11.30am.
Going to do nothing today i have nothing to so having a lazy day.
