According to the BBC weather thingy it should have been raining for hours.... nope just grey and bleughhh. And I'm still too hot 🥵 🤣🤣

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2025 08:50

North Hampshire here too, if we got any lightning last night I must have slept through it.. woke around 4 for the toilet and there wasn’t anything happening then. Just raining a steady amount all morning which is more than welcome.

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2025 09:02

I would love it to rain more , but not be as hot
A days downpour would be lovely

Luckyingame · 19/07/2025 09:23

NO.
Usual bullshit.

Lonelycrab · 19/07/2025 09:26

Well looking at the lightning map it looks like ww3 is kicking off on the eastern side of France.. so I guess the Met office were out by about 500 miles..

Westfacing · 19/07/2025 09:26

Heavy rain, 18C, 89% humidity, but no thunder or lightning yet in my part of SW London

VenusClapTrap · 19/07/2025 09:31

I woke in the night to the sound of torrential rain on the skylights, and it’s been raining ever since from what I can tell. No thunder or lightning though; I fell asleep staring at the lightning website but it was all much further east then.

FestivusMiracle · 19/07/2025 09:33

North of London. We’ve had rain, nothing major. I was really hoping for a good thunderstorm. ☹️

pucksack · 19/07/2025 10:02

it's still muggy

DappledThings · 19/07/2025 10:08

It was rubbish. A bit of lightening and far away thunder, some decent rain in the night but none this morning.

Even with the window wide open it was still too hot to sleep with any cover on.

More rain forecast but not looking likely. Worst of all worlds because DH is meant to be playing cricket. If he's out all day and I know then it's fine. If it's cancelled and we have unexpectedly more time together at the weekend all good but it will be having to head over there, play 6 or 7 overs, come off for a shower, go back on, come off, eventually abandon match about 5. So neither an actual game or getting the time back.

pucksack · 19/07/2025 10:56

Just as I decided to go for a walk the heavens opened 😆. No thunder though

TheFormidableMrsC · 19/07/2025 10:58

Having had multiple weather warnings ping my phone throughout yesterday, I was ready! No thunder at all here (North Herts), but the rain is relentless. I don’t mind that really, we need it. Was disappointed not to have the severe thunderstorm forecast though!

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2025 11:21

Social Media have been on about ‘ a wall of rain ‘ for weeks now and nothing. This isn’t currently a wall of anything where I am ( south east)
It is nice to see rain though so not knocking it

Ginmonkeyagain · 19/07/2025 12:47

It's been hoying it down in South East London since 7am this morning. Easing off now.

As far as I can tell no thunderstorms. Also no sign of the biblical levels of rain we were warned about, more the the kind of downpours that are normally triggered after a humid July day.

LaurieFairyCake · 19/07/2025 12:52

Lots of nice rain here in SE London, heard no thunder though. App says it’s only 17 degrees, feels much warmer than that to me 🤷‍♀️

FestivusMiracle · 19/07/2025 13:03

It’s so flipping humid.

I’m glad to see rain although I just took a walk around the garden and all our roses and dahlias have collapsed.

Abracadabra12345 · 19/07/2025 13:05

SE here, no thunder but it’s been on-off rain including some lovely heavy downpours ( my garden has the puddles to prove it!). 21. degrees, “ feels like” 24 according to my weather app.

Last night was the worst I’ve known it, I was sitting in the garden at 1.00 am but it was no cooler there than inside, and the air was turgid

mondaytosunday · 19/07/2025 13:07

SW London no thunder but a lot of rain! We need it!
My son works in retail and he said yesterday all the ladies were complaining about the humidity- I’d literally just said to my DD how muggy it was.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 19/07/2025 13:13

SE here too, no sign of thunderstorms. In fact it's worse than yesterday, at least yesterday we had sun!

So much for the Amber weather warning!

classiccake · 19/07/2025 13:23

Nothing in suffolk yet had a teaspoon of rain sometime this morning nothing to speak of.
I really hope for a good storm.
Ive spent weeks hiding from the sun and heat due to it brining on my migraines.

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2025 14:54

Essex. Loads of rain earlier on, sheets of it. still warm and clammy though.
