Bank account holiday insurance.

I currently pay for my current account, minimal fee which is recouped each month. The same bank offer worldwide travel insurance with an upgraded account.

Would it be wrong to go for the upgrade, purely for the insurance, and then downgrade on return? Clearly if I had to claim this would take time and it would end up probably costing me more for the account fees while it’s being processed and there is likely to be a clause somewhere… but if I don’t claim, it would be about £70 cheaper.

Do you know what exclusions are in the insurance?

We have friends who had a packaged account including travel insurance, but, once you have an illness, it’s about as much use as the proverbial.

We have no pre existing luckily, so we should be ok in that respect. It just feels like I am cheating the system 🫣

This. Unless you're a 20 year old athlete, who never drinks and hasn't seen a doctor for the last 25 years it probably won't cover you. Check the T&Cs first.

I’ll double check them before I apply for the account, thanks for the heads up.
